Melissa Stewart is an award-winning American author of more than 200 science and nature books for children. She writes picture books, early readers, and informational nonfiction that introduce young readers to biology, ecology, and the natural world. Stewart holds a B.S. in biology from Union College and a master’s degree in science journalism from New York University. She lives in Acton, Massachusetts, and is active in school visits, educator workshops, and nonfiction literacy advocacy.
