E. M. Forster

Edward Morgan Forster (1879–1970) was a British novelist, essayist and librettist known for novels that explore class difference and hypocrisy in early 20th-century England and the British Empire. His most famous works include A Room with a View (1908), Howards End (1910) and A Passage to India (1924). Forster's writing is noted for its humanism, ironic wit and advocacy of personal connection across social and cultural divides.
