John Scalzi

John Michael Scalzi II (born May 10, 1969) is an American science fiction author, essayist, and former president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. He is best known for the Old Man's War series and the Interdependency trilogy (beginning with The Collapsing Empire), and for his long-running blog Whatever. Scalzi has won multiple genre awards including the Hugo and the Robert A. Heinlein Award and is a frequent commentator on publishing and popular culture.
