Mordecai Richler

Mordecai Richler (1931–2001) was a Canadian novelist, essayist and screenwriter noted for his witty, satirical portrayals of Jewish and Montreal life. Best known for works such as The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, St. Urbain's Horseman and Barney's Version, Richler combined sharp social observation with memorable characters and dark humour. He was an influential figure in 20th-century Canadian literature.
