Blood Line

Newly promoted to Chief Inspector for London's murder squad and still coping with the death of her fiancé, Detective Anna Travis is urged by her boss, Detective Chief Superintendent James Langton, to take on a suspicious assignment from Scotland Yard's missing person bureau. The case involves the son of a court employee who has disappeared without a trace. When an ominous pool of blood is discovered at the crime scene, but no body, Anna suspects the case is a full-blown murder inquiry, not just a missing person's report. As Anna launches a desperate hunt for the vanished man, she becomes obsessed with minute details of the investigation. With no body found and increasing pressure to make an arrest, Langton begins to worry that Anna is losing control of the case—and of herself.
