The Girl on the Train

Rachel is an alcoholic, recently divorced, who takes the same commuter train every morning. Each day, the train stops at a signal overlooking a row of back gardens, allowing her to observe a couple she nicknames 'Jess and Jason.' Their life, as she sees it, is perfect—the ideal she recently lost. Her fantasy is shattered when she witnesses something shocking and brief from the train window. Soon after, the woman, whose real name is Megan Hipwell, goes missing. Rachel, unable to keep what she saw to herself, goes to the police, becoming deeply entangled in the investigation. However, her own fragile memory and unreliable narration, stemming from alcohol-induced blackouts, lead authorities and others to question if she is a credible witness or if she has done more harm than good.
