The Accident Season

Every October, Cara and her family become inexplicably and unavoidably accident-prone—it is their 'accident season.' The injuries can be minor, like cuts and scrapes, or very bad, as with the season her father died. This year, when Cara, her ex-stepbrother Sam, and her best friend Bea are seventeen, the season is going to be a bad one for reasons they do not expect. Cara begins to notice a mysterious girl named Elsie in her old family photos, leading her to uncover a long-hidden family secret beneath the physical marks of the accident season.
