The Poet

Crime reporter Jack McEvoy specializes in death, but he is blindsided when his twin brother, a homicide detective, is found dead in an apparent suicide. Jack decides to write a feature on police suicides as a way to cope, but his research leads him to a stunning discovery: a sinister pattern that connects his brother's death to a series of other detective suicides. The victims were all homicide cops who were haunted by a murder case they couldn't crack, and the killer's calling card is a quotation from the works of Edgar Allan Poe, leading the FBI to nickname the perpetrator 'The Poet.' As Jack delves deeper into the story, he uncovers a cunning and savage serial killer at large and realizes that his investigation has made him the next and most visible target.
