The Strain

A Boeing 777 arrives at New York's JFK Airport, stops dead on the tarmac, and all communication channels fall silent. Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather, head of the CDC's rapid-response team known as the Canary Project, is called to investigate the mysterious biological threat. He boards the dark plane and discovers that all but four people are dead. Eph soon uncovers the terrifying truth: the contagion is a deadly, ancient, and unstoppable vampiric plague that threatens to spread like wildfire. In a Spanish Harlem pawnshop, Abraham Setrakian, a former professor and Holocaust survivor, recognizes the signs of an impending supernatural war he has been dreading his entire life. Joined by Setrakian and a small crew, Dr. Goodweather must race against time to stop the contagion and save New York City before the plague consumes the world.
