Road to Gingerbread Grove: A Sweet Holiday RomCom (Holiday Rivals)

Matthew promised himself he would never go back to his hometown of Gingerbread Grove, but a call from his mom sends him back after almost ten years. His flight is cancelled, forcing him to drive five hours in a snowstorm where he gets stuck with Avery, a hitchhiking elf. Avery is a Head Elf at C.O.C.O.A., an organization that makes Christmas wishes come true. She's single, stranded, and dressed like she just escaped the North Pole. Matthew agrees to let her tag along, and Avery uses her 'elfy charms' to get him to agree to let her be his fake girlfriend so they can enter the couples-only Gingerbread Grove's Yuletide Games. While Matthew cringes at the town's over-the-top Christmas requirements, he starts to find the Christmas he used to love through his happy-go-lucky elf, who seems to find joy in pushing him outside of his comfort zone. Avery finds herself immersed in a Survivor-style holiday competition that may test her heart. However, when the darker side of the town starts to emerge, rumors are spread, and secrets are revealed, everything they've worked for, including Matthew's not-so-fake feelings for his little elf, is put in jeopardy. Road to Gingerbread Grove is a closed-door, kisses-only romantic comedy and a standalone book within the Holiday Rivals series.
