Epitaph for a Spy A Spy Thriller

When Josef Vadassy, a Hungarian refugee and language teacher, arrives at the Hotel de la Reserve on the French Riviera, he is looking forward to a relaxing end to his holiday before returning to Paris. But in St. Gatien, on the eve of World War II, suspicion is rampant, and everyone at the hotel—including an American brother and sister, expatriate Brits, and a German gentleman traveling under an alias—is suspect. When the film Vadassy drops off at the chemist's reveals photographs of military defenses he did not take, he suddenly finds himself the object of intense police suspicion and mistaken for a Gestapo agent. To clear his name and avoid a charge for espionage, Vadassy must uncover which one of his fellow guests is the real spy.
