Green on Blue A Novel

Aziz and his older brother Ali are two Afghan orphans living in a village in eastern Afghanistan. When their parents are killed, they make their way to a small city to piece together a life, but their world is shattered again after a marketplace bomb following the US invasion leaves Ali brutally injured. To pay for his brother's medical care, Aziz must join the Special Lashkar, a US-funded militia. As he rises through the ranks, he becomes mired in the dark complexities of his country's war, witnessing clashes known as 'green on blue' attacks. Trapped in the conflict, Aziz struggles to understand his place and must choose between embracing the brutality of war or risking the safety of his brother and a young woman he loves.
