The Sweetness of Water (Oprah's Book Club) A Novel

Set in the waning days of the Civil War in Georgia during Reconstruction, the novel follows brothers Prentiss and Landry, two freedmen who seek refuge on the homestead of George Walker and his wife, Isabelle.
