The Reluctant Midwife A Hope River Novel

Set in rural West Virginia during the Great Depression, the story follows Nurse Becky Myers as she returns to Hope River to care for the community. While she can handle most situations, Becky remains uneasy about delivering babies, a task she usually relies on her dear friend, experienced midwife Patience Murphy, to handle. However, Patience is now married and expecting a baby herself, forcing Becky to step up and keep the mothers of Hope River safe.
