The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl

Fanboy, a fifteen-year-old high school sophomore who is relentlessly bullied and struggling with a chaotic home life, pours all his energy into a secret graphic novel called *Schemata*. He is convinced the novel will be his ticket to publication, fame, and most importantly, a way out of his miserable town. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Kyra, also known as Goth Girl, an outrageous, cynical girl who shares his love of comics and his deep hatred for the jocks and bullies who torment them both. Fanboy is drawn to the only person who seems to truly understand him, and he begins to heed Kyra's advice to ignore or crush anyone who stands in his way. However, Goth Girl harbors dangerous secrets and alarming behaviors that threaten to lead Fanboy down a path into his own darkness.
