This sapphic Jewish twist on the classic enemies-to-lovers holiday rom-com follows college freshman Shani Levine, who plans to spend her winter break focusing on a month-long paleoichthyology internship at the Smithsonian to forget about being unceremoniously dumped by her ex-girlfriend. Her plan to live like a 'Jewish nun' is immediately derailed when she literally runs into May with her mom's Subaru. An attempted vehicular manslaughter was not on Shani's list of winter break activities. Despite their awkward, antagonistic start, kismet intervenes when a dog-walking gig puts Shani firmly back in May's path. Their budding, unexpected connection is complicated by an accidental Christmas Eve snow-in and Shani's lingering hurt over her breakup, forcing her to decide if she is ready for a serious new relationship or if this is just a passing winter fling.
