Rising Phoenix

Special Agent Mark Beamon, a maverick exiled to a no-profile post due to his open disdain for the FBI's rules and Directors, is summoned back to Washington when a shadowy right-wing group starts flooding America's emergency rooms with dead and dying. Teamed with an icily efficient female field agent, Beamon is given the task of stopping the slaughter, a difficult mission since millions of Americans secretly approve of the vigilante campaign. As the body count rises, Beamon realizes his adversary is eerily familiar, reminding him of the coldest killer he ever encountered—a former law enforcement colleague—which makes him wonder if he was chosen for his expertise or his expendability.
