Sharpe's Fortress

India, 1803. Richard Sharpe, recently promoted to Ensign, is a man on a mission of vengeance. Following the bloody victory at Assaye, Sharpe is tasked with hunting down the renegade Englishman William Dodd, who has fled to the seemingly impregnable mountain fortress of Gawilghur. High above the Deccan Plain, the fortress is protected by sheer cliffs and massive walls, defended by a desperate army. As the British forces prepare for a daunting siege, Sharpe must navigate the treachery of a corrupt officer within his own ranks and survive a final, suicidal assault on the fortress's inner sanctum to settle his score with Dodd and secure his future in the army.
