Jeremy Marsh is a science journalist and professional skeptic who travels from New York City to the small town of Boone Creek, North Carolina, to investigate a recurring supernatural phenomenon: ghostly lights appearing in a local cemetery. Expecting to quickly debunk the mystery and return to his sophisticated urban life, Jeremy's plans are complicated when he meets Lexie Darnell, the town's librarian.
