After his partner is killed in the line of duty, Baltimore detective Nate Burke accepts a job as the Chief of Police in the remote town of Lunacy, Alaska, hoping for a fresh start. While he begins to settle into the eccentric community and develops a relationship with the independent bush pilot Meg Galloway, the discovery of a body in a mountain cave reopens a decades-old mystery. The remains belong to Meg's father, who was believed to have abandoned his family years ago. As Nate digs into the cold case, he realizes that someone in the small town is willing to kill to keep the secrets of the past buried, turning his quiet retreat into a dangerous investigation.
