When the wild and impulsive Lord Sheringham is rejected by the beautiful Isabella Woods, he vows in a fit of pique to marry the next woman he sees. That woman happens to be Hero Wantage, a plain, innocent, and penniless orphan who has been in love with 'Sherry' since childhood. Their marriage of convenience quickly turns into a whirlwind of Regency-era escapades as they head to London. While Sherry attempts to continue his bachelor lifestyle, the naive Hero's attempts to navigate high society lead to a series of hilarious social blunders and romantic misunderstandings.
