An Irish Country Christmas

In the third installment of Patrick Taylor's beloved series, it is December 1964 in the colorful Ulster village of Ballybucklebo. Young doctor Barry Laverty, M.B., is looking forward to his first Christmas in the village, though his spirits are dampened by the news that his sweetheart, Patricia, may not make it home for the holidays. However, Barry has little time for romantic disappointment as he and his senior partner, the irascible Dr. Fingal Flahertie O'Reilly, find their hands full with seasonal illnesses and medical emergencies. The duo must also contend with a 'patient-poaching' new physician whose questionable medical practices threaten the well-being of the community. Amidst the chaos of the village Christmas pageant and local festivities, the doctors strive to bring a bit of holiday magic to their patients, proving that even in the emerald hills of rural Ireland, miracles can happen.
