Promise Me

Myron Bolitar, determined to keep two neighborhood high school girls safe from the dangers of drinking and driving, makes them promise to call him, no questions asked, if they are ever in a bind. The call comes at 2 a.m. from one of the girls, Aimee. After Myron picks her up and reluctantly drops her off at a new address, she vanishes, leaving Myron as the last person who saw her. Driven by guilt and desperation, Myron is forced to break a six-year vow to stay out of the mystery-solving life, racing to find Aimee before she is gone forever and confronting his own troubled past in the process.
