Before the Fall

On a foggy summer night, eleven people—ten privileged, one down-on-his-luck painter named Scott Burroughs—depart Martha's Vineyard on a private jet bound for New York. Sixteen minutes later, the plane plunges into the ocean. The only survivors are Scott, the painter, and a four-year-old boy, who is now the last remaining member of an immensely wealthy and powerful media mogul's family. As the chapters weave between the aftermath of the crash and the backstories of the passengers, the mystery surrounding the tragedy deepens. Questions arise as to whether the crash was a random accident or if something more sinister was at work, involving the wealthy and influential people on board.
