Bed of Nails

Canadian Mountie Zinc Chandler is called to a gruesome murder scene at a Vancouver hotel where a Hollywood producer is found suspended upside down like the Hanged Man tarot card, with a crown of nails hammered into his head. When similar corpses appear across the border in Seattle, Chandler believes he is trailing a serial killer he knows all too well: his old enemy, the Ripper, who is supposedly isolated in an asylum. To solve the mystery of how the Ripper could be back, Chandler must delve into the past, looking back to the 1888 terror of the original Jack the Ripper and into the weird world of H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. His investigation takes him from the streets of Vancouver to a horror convention in Seattle and culminates in a struggle for survival on the cannibal island of Tangaroa in the South Pacific.
