The Great War changes everything in this epic tale, spanning over a decade, which follows the life of Christopher Tietjens, a principled and privileged English aristocrat. The war turns his world upside down, forcing him to question everything he holds dear, including social order, morality, marriage, and loyalty, thereby rocking the foundations of English society. Tietjens, a traditional Tory gentleman, is committed to his ideals of honor and duty, which complicate his turbulent relationship with his manipulative and unfaithful wife, Sylvia.
