Nicole "Nicky" Frank miraculously survives a brutal car accident and crawls from the wreckage, frantically telling paramedics that she must find and save her daughter, Vero. Sergeant Wyatt Foster and Investigator Tessa Leoni are called to the scene to search for the missing child, but they can find no trace of anyone else. Nicky's husband, Thomas, arrives with a shocking revelation: Nicky suffers from a rare brain injury that causes delusions, and according to him, a daughter named Vero has never existed. Despite her husband's claims, Nicky remains determined to save Vero. The case becomes complicated for Wyatt and Tessa as they dig deeper, learning that Nicky has been involved in more than one recent close accident, raising the question of whether her injuries have caused delusions or if someone is deliberately trying to kill her.
