James Webb Huston (October 26, 1953 – April 14, 2016) was an American lawyer, naval flight officer and bestselling author best known for military- and legal-themed thrillers such as Balance of Power, Marine One and Falcon Seven. A graduate of TOPGUN and the University of South Carolina (BA) and the University of Virginia School of Law (JD), he served as an F-14 Naval Flight Officer, worked in naval intelligence, later practiced as a trial lawyer and was a partner at Morrison & Foerster. He lived near San Diego, California.
