Richard Laymon

Richard Carl Laymon (January 14, 1947 – February 14, 2001) was an American author best known for his prolific work in horror fiction, particularly splatterpunk. He published more than thirty novels and numerous short stories, and is noted for works such as The Cellar, The Beast House, Island and The Traveling Vampire Show. Laymon's work enjoyed a strong cult following, especially in the UK; he received a posthumous Bram Stoker Award for The Traveling Vampire Show.
