Fredric Jay Neuman
Fredric Jay Neuman was an American psychiatrist, novelist, and commentator. He was the director of the Anxiety and Phobia Treatment Center at White Plains Hospital for over forty years. Born in Manhattan, he developed a broad range of interests from a young age, including music, playing the piano, and sports. He attended Princeton University, where he majored in philosophy, and later New York University for medical school. His military service in Germany inspired one of his novels. Neuman's writing career included non-fiction books on treating phobias and emotional illnesses, as well as mystery novels featuring a crime-solving psychiatrist, and a fantasy novel. He also maintained a blog discussing various topics. In addition to his professional and writing pursuits, Neuman was an accomplished artist, creating abstract paintings. He passed away in May 2021.
