Lisa Niemi Swayze

Lisa Niemi Swayze is an American writer, dancer, choreographer, actress, and director. She is the widow of actor and dancer Patrick Swayze. Niemi was born in Houston, Texas, and trained as a dancer, graduating from the Houston Ballet Dance Company in 1974. She pursued a dance career in New York City in the 1970s, where she met and married Patrick Swayze in 1975. Their partnership extended to professional collaborations in dance, film, and writing. Niemi Swayze wrote, directed, and starred in the 2003 film 'One Last Dance,' an adaptation of her earlier play 'Without a Word.' She co-authored the memoir 'The Time of My Life' with Patrick Swayze, which became a New York Times Best Seller. Her second memoir, 'Worth Fighting For,' also became a New York Times Best Seller. She has been an advocate for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network since her husband's death.
