
Stephen J. Cannell
Stephen J. Cannell was an American television producer, writer, novelist, actor, and founder of Cannell Entertainment and The Cannell Studios. He created or co-created dozens of successful TV series, including 'The Rockford Files,' 'The A-Team,' 'Renegade,' 'The Greatest American Hero,' '21 Jump Street,' and 'The Commish.' He also wrote novels, notably the Shane Scully mystery series. Cannell struggled with dyslexia in school but graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in journalism. He died in 2010 at the age of 69 from complications of melanoma.
