Robert Richard Vaughan Jr. (1937–2024) was an American prolific novelist and writer of Westerns, historical fiction and commercial fiction. He authored hundreds of books (using numerous pseudonyms), appeared on bestseller lists, served three tours in Vietnam as an Army warrant officer, and received multiple genre awards including the SPUR Award for best Novel of the West. Vaughan was inducted into the Writers' Hall of Fame and received recognition from Western fiction organizations. He lived in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
