Anna-Marie McLemore is a Mexican-American author of young adult fiction, known for their magical realism and fairy tales that explore queer, Latine, and nonbinary identities. They grew up in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and were taught by their family to hear la llorona in the Santa Ana winds. McLemore's work is inspired by the fairytales and stories they grew up with, as well as their own background, often featuring magical-realist themes, queer characters, and Spanish and French language. They are also known for their inclusive, queer, and Latinx casts in their writing.
