Michael Wallner is an Austrian actor, screenwriter, theater director, and author. He was born in Graz in 1958 and studied directing and acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. He has worked as an actor at renowned theaters such as the Wiener Burgtheater and the Schillertheater Berlin. Since 1986, he has been active as a freelance opera and theater director. Wallner has published eight novels and five young adult books. He has also written four screenplays that have been adapted for film and television. He lives in Berlin and England.
