Rachel Simmons

Rachel Simmons is an American author known for her New York Times bestsellers "Odd Girl Out: The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls" and "The Curse of the Good Girl: Raising Authentic Girls with Courage and Confidence." She is also the author of "Enough As She Is: How to Help Girls Move Beyond Impossible Standards of Success to Live Healthy, Happy, and Fulfilling Lives." Simmons is an educator, leadership coach, and facilitator who works with individuals and organizations to develop strategies for reducing bullying, empowering girls, and fostering leadership skills. She co-founded the national nonprofit Girls Leadership and has held positions at Smith College and The Hewitt School. Simmons has appeared on numerous media outlets, including "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Today," and "Good Morning America," and her work has been adapted for television. She is a Rhodes Scholar, having graduated from Vassar College and studied at Oxford University. Simmons is a single mother and identifies as a lesbian parent.
