Jerry Pallotta is an award-winning American children's author best known for alphabet, counting, and animal nonfiction picture books as well as the Who Would Win? series. He began his career while working as an insurance salesman, self-published his first Ocean Alphabet book and later became a full-time author. His books combine factual research, humor, and realistic illustrations and have been published by major children's imprints including Scholastic and Charlesbridge. He is from Scituate, Massachusetts and has lived and worked in the Boston area.
