James Dover Grant CBE (born October 29, 1954), primarily known by his pen name Lee Child, is a British author of thriller novels, best known for his Jack Reacher series. The books follow the adventures of a former American military policeman, Jack Reacher, who wanders the United States. His younger brother, Andrew Grant, is also a thriller novelist and has collaborated with Lee on recent Jack Reacher books, eventually taking over writing duties under the pseudonym Andrew Child. Lee Child worked in commercial television for 18 years before becoming an author at age 40. His debut novel, 'Killing Floor' (1997), won the Anthony Award and the Barry Award for Best First Novel.
