Ryan Douglass
Ryan Douglass is a queer author and poet from Atlanta, Georgia. He is the author of the New York Times bestselling YA horror novel, The Taking of Jake Livingston, which was an ALA Rainbow Book List Pick, a Tor.com Young Adult SFFH Best Book Pick, and a Black Caucus American Library Association Best of the Best Booklist Pick. He is also the author of The Great Disillusionment of Nick and Jay, a reimagining of The Great Gatsby set in 1920s Harlem. His short stories appear in the YA horror anthologies All These Sunken Souls and Night of the Living Queers, and his poetry can be found in the poetry anthologies Poemhood: Our Black Revival and He/She/They/Us, in addition to his self-published poetry collection, Boy in Jeopardy. Douglass received his BA in theater studies from Hofstra University and is currently a nomad floating across the United States. His work explores the ways young people fight to survive in hostile worlds.
