Lalita Tademy
Lalita Tademy (born December 26, 1948) is an American novelist and former technology executive. After a corporate career that included serving as a vice president at Sun Microsystems, she researched her family history and wrote Cane River (2001), a New York Times bestseller and Oprah's Book Club selection. Her work draws on extensive archival and genealogical research to tell multi-generational stories of African-American families in the American South; subsequent novels include Red River (2006) and Citizens Creek (2014). She lives in Northern California.
