Carrie Mac is a Canadian author known for her literary novels and young adult fiction. She has written over a dozen novels for young adults, exploring contemporary and speculative themes. Her work often features LGBTQ+ characters and themes, and she is recognized for her authentic portrayal of complex characters and challenging subjects. Mac has also written short stories and creative non-fiction, published in various literary journals. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC and has mentored emerging writers. Mac's writing has received numerous accolades, including a CBC Literary Prize, the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize, and the Arthur Ellis Award. She is also a recipient of Canadian Council for the Arts grants. Her novel "Last Winter" was a #1 Canadian bestseller. Mac is a queer parent and lives in East Vancouver.
