Sarah Mlynowski is a Canadian and American writer of middle-grade fiction, young adult novels, and adult fiction. She is the daughter of romance writer Elissa Ambrose. Mlynowski graduated with an Honors degree in English literature from McGill University. She worked for Harlequin Enterprises before moving to New York City to write full-time. She is best known for her New York Times best-selling series Whatever After. Mlynowski is also a co-founder of OMG BookFest, a book festival for middle-grade readers. She and her husband became American citizens in March 2026. Her books have been translated into twenty-nine languages and optioned for Hollywood.
