Michael Palmer

Michael Stephen Palmer, M.D. (1942–2013) was an American physician-turned-author best known for medical-suspense novels such as Extreme Measures, Miracle Cure and The First Patient. Trained in internal medicine, he practised emergency and internal medicine for many years and served as an associate director of the Massachusetts Medical Society physician health program. Several of his novels were New York Times bestsellers and his work has been translated into dozens of languages; Extreme Measures was adapted as a feature film in 1996.
