Sophie Yeo is a writer and journalist based in Durham, England, who covers nature and climate change. She is also the founder and editor of Inkcap Journal, a publication focusing on conservation in Britain. Her first book, "Nature's Ghosts: The World We Lost and How to Bring It Back," was published in May 2024 and was shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize for Conservation in 2024. The book explores environmental history and conservation, examining how the planet might have looked before human impact and the lessons from the past for modern conservation strategies. Yeo's work has appeared in publications such as The Washington Post, The Guardian, and BBC Future. She holds a master's in journalism from Cardiff University and studied English literature at Oxford University.
