Robert Stanley Weir

Robert Stanley Weir (1856–1926) was a Canadian judge, poet, and legal scholar. He is best known for writing the English lyrics to 'O Canada', the national anthem of Canada, in 1908. Educated as a teacher and lawyer, he served as a municipal court judge and later as a judge for the Exchequer Court of Canada. He was also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and published several collections of poetry and legal treatises.
