Richard Allen Knaak (born May 28, 1961) is an American fantasy author best known for works in the Dragonlance, Dragonrealm, Diablo, and Warcraft universes. He has written dozens of novels and short stories, including the bestselling The Legend of Huma, multiple Dragonrealm volumes, and several Blizzard tie-in novels. Knaak studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has split his time between Chicago and Arkansas while maintaining an active writing career.
