Jennifer Vanderbes is an American novelist, journalist, screenwriter, and playwright. Born in New York City, she attended the Dalton School and Yale University before earning an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She is known for her historical fiction novels, including 'Easter Island', 'Strangers at the Feast', and 'The Secret of Raven Point', as well as her investigative non-fiction work, 'Wonder Drug: The Secret History of Thalidomide in America and Its Hidden Victims'. Her work has been translated into multiple languages and she has received numerous honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholar designation.
