Molly Kathleen Ringwald is an American actress, singer, dancer, and author. She gained fame as a teen idol in the 1980s for her roles in John Hughes's films 'Sixteen Candles', 'The Breakfast Club', and 'Pretty in Pink'. In addition to her acting career, she is a writer and translator, having authored books such as 'Getting the Pretty Back' and the story collection 'When It Happens to You', as well as translating French novels into English.
