Nanci Kincaid

Nanci Kincaid is an American novelist and short story writer known for her literary fiction, often set in the American South. Born in Tallahassee, Florida, she grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She earned a B.A. from Athens State College and an M.F.A. from the University of Alabama. Her work includes novels such as 'Crossing Blood', 'Balls', 'Verbena', and 'As Hot As It Was You Ought to Thank Me', as well as the short story collection 'Pretending the Bed Is a Raft', which was adapted into the film 'My Life Without Me'. She has also taught creative writing at various universities.
