Shirley Neitzel

Shirley Mae Neitzel (1941–2023) was an American author and educator. She had a 30-plus year career teaching in the Caledonia Community Schools in Michigan and authored 13 children's books, most notably the popular picture book 'The Jacket I Wear in the Snow'. She was actively involved in literacy organizations, including the Michigan Reading Association and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
